Mian Waqar ul Islam: Today we are honored to host MADDER-E-DABISTAN-E-LAHORE | NAZ-E-PAKISTAN, Dr. Shahnaz Muzammil, Chairperson, Adab Saraae International. She holds the distinction of being the only Pakistani poetess in the world who wrote a unique publication “Noor-e-Furqan” (Manzoom Mafhoon of Quran-e-Kareem). Welcome to this exclusive interview.
Dr. Shahnaz Muzammil: Thank you very much.

Mian Waqar ul Islam: For our audience, I would like to reflect your key highlights. You are the only Pakistani poetess in the world who wrote a unique publication “Noor-e-Furqan” (Manzoom Mafhoon of Quran-e-Kareem). You wrote over 50 publications including Urdu/Punjabi Poetry, Hamd-o-Naat, Mazameen, Safar Nama and Specialized editions of Five Kulyat etc. Urdu/English biographies were compiled on your life; Six Specialized Portfolios were published and one documentary was also launched. You received numbers of honorary entitlements like Madder-E-Dabistan-e-Lahore and Naz-e-Pakistan. Research projects were executed, thesis and publications were compiled on your literary work in many universities and colleges. You received number of local and international awards, including Honorary Doctorate, Gold medals, Shields, Certificates etc. You belong to a well-practiced Muslim family with rich Educational, Literary, Social and Business background. You are specialized in Library Science, also qualified in Public Service Commission Exam, and retired after serving the Government of Pakistan for a long time. You are the Chairperson of Adab Saraae International since 1987, hosted thousands of literary programs and represented Pakistan in many countries. You awarded 1000s of awards under Shahnaz Muzammil Adbi Awards programs. You have spent your life to support and promote love and peace in society. You are the founding member of many literary and social organizations committed to spread your message of love and peace. You remained all-the-time new trend setter, seasonal rain maker with capital R, and now your literary timeline is being famous as an “Ehd-e-Shahnaz”.

Mian Waqar ul Islam: Your father and mother used to arrange literary, social and religious activities at home, and you participated in them with encouragement from elders. In 4th class, you wrote your first English poem on the farewell of your principal and it was highly appreciated by a large crowd. In class five, you won 1st prize for best speech. You remained champion of badminton, high jump, long jump. You were best performer of fancy dress shows, leader of morning assembly and participated in poetry, drama, games and debates throughout school and college.
Dr. Shahnaz Muzammil: Yes, that was the foundation of my personality.

Mian Waqar ul Islam: After F.A, you got married and your life partner appreciated your literary activities. You were selected as first lady announcer at Radio Pakistan Multan. Later you were blessed with two daughters. After 10 years of marriage, you restarted your regular education and completed graduation. In 1984, you earned Master’s in Library Science. After masters, you qualified Public Service Commission Exam and joined Government Service. In 1989, you completed Short Course in French Language. In 1990, Short Course in Computer Application & Management. In 1991, D.H.M.S. In 1992, training in Netherlands in Scientific Literature & Management.
Dr. Shahnaz Muzammil: Yes, education remained continuous in my life.

Mian Waqar ul Islam: You retired from Quaid-E-Azam Library (12-12-05 to 9-4-08) as Program Organizer. You worked with Archives Wing – S & GAD, Lahore (9-2-2004 to 23-2-05) as Assistant Director (Library). You served Quaid-e-Azam Library (2001 to 2003) as Program Officer/Incharge Public Service and Reference Section. You worked at CRDC, Kharian (1998-2000) as Research Associate. At Govt. Model Town Library, Lahore (1986-1998) as Library Manager/Incharge. At Government Islamia College for Women, Cooper Road, Lahore (1984-1986) as Librarian.

Mian Waqar ul Islam: Adab Saraae International is an Urdu Literary Organization working in Pakistan since 1987. Its objective is to educate new writers and poets and provide open platform to recite poetry and prose. Renowned poets, writers and scholars are members promoting Urdu literature worldwide. It conducts regular monthly literary programs and is internationally recognized. Senior members participate in National and International Literary Events and teach in various Universities and Education Centers.
